## The Pre-Trip Vehicle Checklist

**Fluid Levels**
Engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, windshield washer. Top off anything low.

**Tires**
Check pressure (cold), tread depth, and condition. Look for bulges, cracks, or punctures. Properly inflated tires improve fuel economy and safety.

**Brakes**
Spongey pedal, grinding, or pulling? Have brakes inspected before you leave.

**Battery & Lights**
Test headlights, tail lights, brake lights, and turn signals. A dead battery far from home is no fun.

**Wipers & Mirrors**
Cracked wipers won't help in rain. Mirrors should be clean and properly aimed.

**Air Filter & A/C**
A clogged air filter reduces fuel economy. Test air conditioning before a hot-weather trip.

**Spare Tire & Jack**
Ensure both are present and the spare is properly inflated.
